If you're new to NEXT for AUTISM and Night of Too Many Stars, here's some background on this special event and how it began ... A pair of comedy parents, Michelle and Robert Smigel had a beautiful boy, Daniel, who was diagnosed with autism. They were determined to help their son in whatever way they could. As they navigated the best path for their family, they wondered how families with fewer opportunities and less means accessed services and got help.
That's when Michelle and Robert turned to their comedy family, who couldn't wait to sign on. Jon Stewart signed up to host and produce the first event. Seven specials later, Michelle, Robert, and Jon are still at it--gathering a constellation of comedy stars that have lit up the benefit and brightened the lives of so many families living with autism.
