What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love working with neurodiverse individuals and being a positive inspiration for others. It’s incredibly rewarding to spread the mission of autism employment and showcase all the amazing things autistic people can accomplish when given the opportunity. Seeing inclusion in action every day is what makes my job so meaningful!
What was your biggest challenge in finding/getting this job?
Job interviews were always a challenge for me, but the hardest moment was when an employer told me they couldn’t hire me simply because I didn’t make eye contact. It was frustrating to be judged on something that had nothing to do with my skills or abilities. That’s why I’m so passionate about autism employment—because talent should be recognized, not overlooked.
What advice do you have for other autistic job seekers?
Never give up—what's meant to happen will happen. Always stay true to yourself. If an employer won’t hire you because of your autism, that says more about them than you. The right job for you is out there! Don’t worry if your timeline looks different from others—we’re all on our own journeys. Focus on your path, not comparisons. And don’t be discouraged if your career doesn’t match your degree—mine doesn’t, and I love what I do!
